Dandenong Ranges National Park

Miles and miles of walking tracks throughout the Dandenong Ranges make it a pleasure to bushwalk for hours within our National Park. It is possible to use public transport, step off and start walking. Hike the 20 km from Upper Ferntree Gully to Mount Dandenong or between the villages … or take a short stroll through the rainforest on the Hardy Gully Walk at Grants Picnic Ground. All the walks are well detailed, including kid, pram, wheelchair, horse, and dog-friendly bushwalks. With over 30 walks included, there is something for everyone.

The most famous walk in the Dandenongs would have to be the 1000 Steps at the base of the Dandenong Ranges, it attracts thousands of visitors each month and is a well-known fitness challenge. The walk is stunning and should be done at a slower pace to be fully appreciated. Signage along the way tells the story of the historic Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea.
